Jessica

Chapter one:

"Do you want to be the one to tell Jessica or should I be the one to tell her that she's been adopted?"
Cassandra asked Jacob. It was Friday afternoon, and she and Jacob where sitting in their living room,
drinking coffee and eating coffee cake, and talking about whether or not they should tell Jessica
that they'd adopted her at birth. "Why do we need to tell Jessica at all that she's been adopted?"
Jacob asked after he'd taken a couple of sips of his coffee. "Because we promised her birth
mother that we'd tell her on her fifteenth birthday that we'd tell her that she'd been adopted."
Cassandra reminded him as she sat back in her chair, her cup of coffee in hand. "Well, sense we promised her birth mother we'd tell her that she's been adopted, then we really don't have a choice but to tell her, and I think we ought to tell her together." Jacob replied as he placed his coffee cup back
on the coffee table in front of him, and reached for his plate of coffee cake. "I think we ought to tell
her, right after she comes back from her friends house." Cassandra replied, after she'd taken a
couple more sips of her coffee and then leaned forward and placed her now empty coffee cup on
the coffee table in front of her, and leaned back on the chair. "I think that would be a good idea, or maybe we could pick her up from her friends house, and take her to a coffee shop and tell her
over a cup of coffee." Jacob suggested, Cassandra thought for a minute before replying, "I don't
think that would be a good idea, I think we should wait for her to get back from her friends house."
Cassandra replied, "Alright, if that's when you want to tell her, then that's what we're going to do,
when should she back home from her friends house?" Jacob asked after he'd chewed and swallowed a couple of bites of his slice of coffee cake. "Yeah, I think it would be a better plan, to tell Jessica
at home that she's been adopted, because we don't know how she's going to handle it, once
we've told her that she's been adopted." Cassandra replied as she leaned forward, and reached for
her plate of sliced coffee cake.
